Upcoming activity: September 13th Picnic & Pétanque

We are bringing back the September picnic on September 13th from noon to 5pm! This event is the perfect way to end the summer holidays with a hotly contested pétanque tournament, delicious all-you-can-eat Belgian fries, a dip in the swimming pool for the kids and a relaxing afternoon on the deck admiring the view for the rest of us.

What to bring: A lawn chair, bathing suits and towels for the children, some food and drinks to share, and a good appetite!

Where: Arno and Veerle’s house at Ocean Park, 1537 126A Street in Surrey

Upcoming activity: National Day 2015

On the occasion of the Belgium National Day, the BCABC invites you to a Cheese and Wine reception!

When? Sunday July 19th, from 2.30pm to 5pm

Where? At Alliance Française, 6161 Cambie Street, in Vancouver (Free parking or a 5 minute walk from the Langara Canada Line station)

Admission: The event is free for members, and only $10 for non-members, so  come on down and join us!

Upcoming activity: mussels and fries

The most popular culinary event of the year is around the corner.

This year the Mussels and Fries will take place at the Alliance Française. Space is limited and we will take registrations on a first-call, first-serve base.

Menu: Caesar Salad, Mussels or delicious Flemish Carbonnades (Please specify when reserving) with fries à volonté, Dame Blanche Dessert, coffee.

Please bring your own beverages (one glass of wine is provided; additional wine and beer available at $4/glass)

When: April 25, 2015, 5pm, dinner will be served at 6pm.

Admission: $30 per person, or $35 for non- members. Reduced rate for children

Upcoming activity: New Year’s Polar Bear Swim 2015

 

Start 2015 with a plunge in the ocean!

When? January 1st, 2015; registration (free) is required between 12 pm and 2.30 pm; the swim is at 2.30 pm.

Where? English Bay Beach, look for the waving Belgian flag near the registration point.

Dresscode: black, yellow, red. 😉 Be creative!

Make sure to bring a thermos with a hot beverage and plenty of warm clothes.

Upcoming activity: Saint Nicholas

It’s that time of year again and Saint Nicholas will be with us for a fun and activity-filled afternoon!

Chocolate fondue, waffles, fruit and hot chocolate will be served and young and old can participate in crafting another spectacular decoration for the house this holiday season!

Sunday December 7, 2014 from 3.00 to 5.30pm at Laura Lynn Lodge in North Vancouver.

This event is free for BCABC members; fee for non-members: $5 per person.

Directions to Laura Lynn Lodge:

Take the Lynn Valley exit 18 on Highway 1 in North Vancouver; turn right (NE) onto Lynn Valley road.

Continue straight until Fromme & 27th. Turn left on Fromme.

Turn left on Frederick, drive about 100 meters and turn left on Hendecourt Rd. Drive another 400 meters or so on Hendecourt Rd.

Hendecourt Road meets Sykes at the entrance of the Laura Lynn complex. Park on Hendecourt Road (where al- lowed) and walk into Laura Lynn.

The lodge is on the left just past the swimming pool.

Be careful as the steps might be slippery.
